Walking

Let's go for a walk

We have put a couple of routes that you can take from both CLs from foot without the need to jump in your car.   Please be aware that you will be using public footpaths and at times be crossing farm land.  We ask that you respect the surroundings and always follow the countryside code.

The above circular walk is under 4 miles and takes you to the village of Brailsford and Ednaston.

In Brailsford you may wish to branch off to take a coffee at the Buttermilk Coffee House or the Blueberry Tearoom, maybe you need some supplies or a newspaper from the Brailsford store and Post Office.

In Ednaston you may also take a break at the Yew Tree inn.

During your walk you will pass through the grounds of the 12th Century All Saint’s Church of Brailsford and take in some delighful countryside views.

For those wishing to explore further on foot the above walk covers over 10 miles of beautiful countryside passing through the villages of Shirley and Osmaston.

Passing through delightful picturesque villages, streams and a duck pond you will also pass an old water mill.  The route can be muddy in places so be sure that you have the right footwear.
