The Honesty Shop

When you visit Heritage Wood, why not treat yourself to a visit to our popular Honesty Shop?

Run by local couple Richie and Lisa from Delicious Co, their beautifully converted horse box is stocked with a wonderful selection of freshly made treats and refreshments. You’ll usually find homemade cakes, delicious sausage rolls, freshly brewed coffee, hot chocolates, teas, soft drinks and other cold refreshments. During the warmer months, there’s also a tempting selection of ice creams to enjoy.

The Honesty Shop is generally open Wednesday to Sunday, as well as Bank Holidays, making it the perfect place to pause, relax and enjoy a little refreshment while spending time in the woodland.

Everything is provided with the same service and quality that Richie and Lisa are well known for, helping to make every visit to Heritage Wood that little bit more special.

Shops & Supermarket

The closest convenince shop for supplies is the Post Office and village store in Brailsford.

You need to head to Ashbourne for the closest supermarket where you will find:

Sainsbury’s Ashbourne 6.7 miles

Aldi Ashbourne 6.1 miles

Brailsford Village

Just over 2 miles away is the village of Brailsford. Head towards the A52 right by the Yew Tree Pub and right again onto the main A52. Follow the road up the hill. You will see Chloe’s Bakehouse & Coffee Shop as you enter the village on your right. Brailsford Post Office & Stores also on your right hand side. A little further along, also on your right is Saracens Yard (see their Facebook page )with its small collection of shops. Just as you are leaving the village there is a turning on your right which takes you to Brailsford Golf Course which is open to non members. They have a welcoming club house, bar and café.

Bus routes

The nearest bus stop is on the A52 just past Ednaston and just over a mile walk. Stay on this side of the A52 to catch a bus to Ashbourne or cross the road and you will head to Derby.

Public houses

We have two pubs in the local area, the ( The Yew Tree in Ednaston is now closed) The Red Lion in Hollington , highly recommended and the ‘Place for Pies!’ It is in walking distance (approx 1 mile from the site entrances )but do take care as you walk on the country lanes. Then you have in Brailsford the Rose & Crown.
